Talk on 'Value of a Smile of a Public Sector Staff'

A SMILE COSTS NOTHING…..Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia last Friday (8th July 2011) attended a talk on the importance of smiling amongst members of the public sector at Wisma Putra, Putrajaya.

The talk entitled Value of a Smile of a Public Sector Staff was delivered by Puan Siti Hasiah Jusoh, a psychologist from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Malaysia.

During the three hour talk, Puan Siti Hasiah reminded participants that a smile was a gift that one could give without expecting anything in return and this practice was expected of a public sector personnel in making a customer feel appreciated when engaged in a service delivery. She also shared tips on how a smile could liven up a working atmosphere and make a whole lot of difference to an organization.

The talk, one of a series of the Friday Morning Session organised by the Human Resource Division of the ministry is consistent with the government on-going campaign Efforts to Enhance Smile Culture in the Public Sector implemented by MAMPU.
